Description – Science

School gardens for a science Good Practice.

This will be achieved by starting off with a school garden in which to grow “culture plants” (ie. an edible plant typical in the culture of the given partner country). By using plants as a starting point students will have the opportunity to see the entire cycle of growth.

They will be interested in how garden design/location, soil, air, water conditions effect plant growth. They will use mathematics, statistics, biology, chemistry, physics, meteorology to deepen their understanding. To better understand the culinary aspect students prepare dishes from the culture plants.

Stages
– Planning (and building) school garden
– Growing plants
– Create time lapse video showing growth stages of culture plant
– Natural Science experiments
